About the Artist

I started painting when I was eight years old. My grandfather, an artist/surgeon, showed me how to paint lighthouses in Cape Cod, near his house in Truro, MA. I carried this hobby into high school and college, but college is where my hobby became more significant. I declared studio art as my major, and in my junior year, I pursued an art-focused study abroad program in Florence, Italy. Throughout college, I discovered my love for oil painting and charcoals, the two mediums I currently work with the most. Like my grandfather, my subject matter reflects where I am and the people I am surrounded by, playing with different lighting and varying degrees of realism. More often than not, a female figure comes to the surface, resembling my partner, Sophie.
